Another 3d project

Hi everyone,

Today I am showcasing a project made entirely on the Silhouette Cameo which I bought just over a year ago from the fantastic That Craft Place.

If anyone is thinking about buying the Cameo - DON'T!!! DON'T think about it! Just do it!!! You really won't regret it. I have had mine 13 months now and I honestly use it every single day. Ok there are a couple of downsides - the noise and I seem to go through cutting mats fairly quickly but at £18.99  for a 12" x 24" one from That Craft Place (which you can cut in half to give you two 12x12 mats) its no real problem. When I first got it I was worried about how quickly the blade would need replacing. I needn't have worried - I am still on my first one!! I kid you not the blade that is in my machine now is the same blade that came with it. I bought a spare and thats still in its wrapper.

When I first got the cameo I hated it! Well I wont say hated it more frustrated with it. I couldn't get a neat cut, I couldnt get it to do the print and cut but a few YouTube tuts later and once you find the setting thats right for your card it was amazing! took me about 2 days to get the hang of it and I was away!

YES you really do need one - you know who you are!!

So what have I created with it this month....

The cutfile for this whole gazeebo is free from a fantastic blog Monica's Creative Room. There are a couple of different Gazeebos on there and lots of other free files too.

The image used is from All Dressed Up and coloured with Copics

I used the Cameo again to cut out the Mr & Mrs writing and used the offset function to create the layers. I wasn't sure how to stick the Mr & Mrs into the gazeebo but eventually decided to use cocktail sticks as poles and used some scraps of pink to make some flower pots which I squirted silicone into to hold the flowers and the cocktail sticks.

So are you still hesitating on getting a Cameo?? What are you waiting for!

  4. What an amazing project Stacey! You need to give me lessons on the Cameo... takes me an hour to cut something out and I could only dream about creating something like this.
