Hi everyone,
now Christmas is over it's time to get cracking with the Birthday cards for the year. Already 2 down, the next is my lovely Dad's on Monday. 69 and honestly looks and acts a lot lot younger. Still goes to the gym everyday although he spends more time exercising his voice chatting to everyone then actually working out but that's my dad for you...talk the hind leg off a donkey...I wonder who that sounds like.....
Anyhooooo, as soon as I think of cards for my dad there is only one image comes to my mind. Gus from Bugaboo. Im sure Jodie over at Bugaboo must know my dad because Gus is Roy! They are perfect for him. And as my dad has a wicked sense of humour I knew he would see the funny side of this digi. So let's have a look...
All shaped and wording has been cut on the Silhouette Cameo available from That Craft Place.
I want to take a minute to explain another cool feature the cameo has that I have only just found. If you have the designer edition for the software (highly recommended) you can drag your digi papers from a folder on your computer into the 'my patterns' part of your cameo library. What this does then is allows you to fill a shape with that paper and cut just that shape -saving you ink. So on this card you see the denim frame around Gus. Previously I would have printed out the digi paper which comes 8" x 8". I would then load that into the cameo and cut the shape out of the printed paper. Now using the fill I can fill the shape with the denim paper and it will only print that shape not a whole 8x8 square. The nusing the registration marks you can load into the cameo and cut out your filled in shape. Sounds complicated but after a few times its a doddle and saves so much wasted ink and card.
The sentiment comes from Bugaboo with the digi as a separate file but I have merged them onto one for this card.
Thanks for stopping by. Come back on Sunday for my next DT project with the amazeballs That Craft Place. Hopefully time willing I might have my dads other card from my children ready to blog before then tomorrow.
I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
