It's Dr. Digi Day!

Hi everyone,

 

Wow where are these weeks going! Is it me or is this year going far too fast!

 

This week for my Dr Digi DT card I am using a very summery digi - hoping to get us all in the mood for this nicer weather we have had this week! How relaxed does she look on her birthday! It is my birthday tomorrow - how I wish I was spending it on a beach too!!

The paper is from Just Breathe paper pack by Raspberry Road

I used the Cameo to cut out the image, swirl and sentiment.

All the washi tape is from my ever growing collection that I seem to collect but don't use enough. I love the effect so really should use it more!

 

 

The image is coloured entirely with copics.

 

 

So how did I do the sky and the sand? Well first I needed to create a mask so that the ink didn't go on my image. I have some Woodware Magifilm - amazing stuff. It cuts amazingly well on the cameo and is tacky enough to stick to your image but easily peels off leaving no residue on your image. With the mask stuck on the image I use a stencil of cloud patterns and place this over the image. I then use a masking brush and using distress inks dab on the blue colour leaving white areas between the clouds. I use the same technique for the sand with a light brown ink ( I use Broken China for the sky and Scattered Straw for the sand) No stencil is needed for the sand just dab the colour on with the brush.
