That Craft Place - Make a Box!

Hi everyone,

It's challenge time again over at That Craft Place

This fortnight the challenge is Make A Box

I have made not one but TWO boxes for this challenge.

First up:

The image is a new one  from Ditzie Digi Designs
The tubular box is made on the Silhouette Cameo using a file from the Silhouette store called Ribbon Handle Box (Design ID #26920) NOTE: I found when I cut the file out as it is the lid is exactly the same size as the box so won't fit. You will need to separate the elements into base and lid and stretch the lid ones to make them slightly bigger.

I coloured the image with promarkers and then added some lace and dew drops.
I also threaded some pink satin ribbon in the lid and some tiny pink ric rak. I added another smaller flower.
I used some fine antistatic glitter on the larger flower.

So That was going to be my box! Until Lisa then brought out ANOTHER amazing image which I couldn't resist colouring up straight away. I had also at the same time seen a friend post some pop up card boxes on Pinterest and thought I would like to give that a go. So here is box 2:

Ok so this doesn't much look like a box yet does it? Lets see what happens if you lift it up...

Ta - da! The box simply opens out and the top flaps fall down on three sides.

You have 4 inside surfaces for you to stick things to and they can stick out of the sides as the box twists to the side to make it close. Kinda hard to describe in words so have a look at the tutorial video I watched on YouTube HERE

Ok so what have I used:
Digi Owl and flowers are from a set called Button Belly Owl over on Etsy by Ditzie Digi Designs (for those who don't know Ditzie Digi Designs are brought to you by That Craft Place owner Lisa)
The button paper is also a digi paper by Ditzie Digi Design printed over a sheet of TATAS papers by Raspberry Road. I also printed the flowers over the same paper and used the trace tool on the cameo to cut out the flowers and the owl.
The leaves and buttons are some I had in my stash.

The sentiment also comes with the digi set and I used this on the back to give somewhere for the sender to write.

My owl is coloured with Copics and I cut another owl outline shape to stick to the back so you cant see where the ink has leaked through the paper.

Thanks for stopping by  please head over to That Craft Place challenge blog and have a look at the other fab boxes from my DT teamies.
